One week long summer day camp in Sausalito. (ages 9-11)

Sausalito Day Camp
The Sausalito waterfront and Richardson Bay are
the stage for five days of fun as we learn how to sea kayak while exploring our watery backyard.
Each day we'll learn new skills while paddling single and double kayaks. We will practice rescues,we will learn to read the tides, and we will explore new parts of our Bay, encountering those creatures that make this place their home.

Our goal is to teach camp members what makes our Bay such a rich environment.Often we meet bat rays and leopard sharks while paddling among the shallow wetlands of this awesome estuary. As we explore our bay, we take advantage of teachable moments to get to know the birds and the harbor seals and all the other curious creatures who show up in our waterways.

The week builds along with our skills to a grand finale: a sea kayaking overnight to Angel Island! From our "Kayak Camp" we'll paddle at sunset, explore tide pools, and share stories around the campfire. If conditions are rough we'll take the ferry while the kayaks are towed to our Angel Island beach.
