1980 "Intern" Boardgame

Description
Shrink-wrapped copy of original Avalon Hill version, autographed by authors.
"...While working towards diagnosis and disposition of patients, the intern is obliged to answer all pages that he receives, to give consultation on patients admitted to other services, and to handle all complications as they arise. He may seek advice from the attending physician or the library, and he may spend any spare time to eat or sleep. The game is concluded when any intern discharges all the patients admitted or transferred to his service. The winner is that intern who through knowledge and efficiency has accumulated the most free hours (more valuable than money in this enterprise). Although it is anticipated that "Intern" will have a special meaning to those who have endured its prototype, it can be enjoyed by all adults, and especially by those who wish to learn more about medicine and its providers."
After the first run of 2000 by the authors, the production "Intern" was picked up by the Avalon Hill Game Company in Baltimore in 1980.
