Description

Shrink-wrapped copy of the original "Intern" boardgame, autographed by the authors.

"This game attempts to portray the trials tribulations and triumphs of the young physician in the first year after medical school. The game is named for him/her, and is played at a facsimile of a large teaching hospital. In this hospital there are four major services (medicine, surgery, gynecology, and neurology). Each player represents the intern from one department. At the start of the game each doctor has four patients awaiting admission in the emergency room. The object of the game is for the intern to manage his patients efficiently by admitting each to his ward and making a diagnosis and disposition. This may involve managing the patient within the intern's own department, or transferring him to another service where his illness could better be treated..."

This version was invented, patented (US Pat No 4136875), produced and distributed by the authors. 2000 copies were sold in one year...
