Description

He spent nearly four decades as a player and coach with the Baltimore Orioles. This baseball was signed by him prior to the 5/4/96 game.  He died at 64 on 12/21/05.  Also included are the ticket from the game, picture of Hendricks signing, the Orioles Magazine 1996 Season--1st Edition, a display case, and 1996 pocket Orioles Baseball Schedule.  


 Hendricks was a catcher for the Orioles on teams that went to three consecutive World Series from 1969-71.  He also played briefly for the Chicago Cubs and New York Yankees during 1968-79.  He went 4-for-11 (.364) with a home run and four RBIs to help Baltimore defeat the Cincinnati Reds in the 1970 World Series.


 


Hendricks retired in 1979 after playing in 711 games - including 658 with the Orioles.  He held the position of  bullpen coach for 28 years  which was the longest coaching tenure in Orioles history.
