FatApple’s Restaurant & Bakery (Certificate Dinner for Two)

Yelp Review:   I keep coming back.  I love the faux book shelves and historic decor - so fitting in Berkeley where we take our intellectualism so seriously.  I love the pumpkin pancakes .  I love the eggs and toast.  I love the wait staff and I love the people who I am eating with in the restaurant - they are always friendly and always helpful and understanding (when I have a toddler and a baby in tow on a weekend morning while my wife is sleeping in).

My son is 4 and he has probably eaten here over 50 times.  When we walk in we are seated immediately (we are there early) and 2 of 3 different servers know our order.  They bring over my coffee and an orange juice with an extra cup so I can share with my son.  A few minutes later they bring a full stack of pumpkin pancakes and an order of eggs and sausage with fruit instead of potatoes.  The whole meal gets laid out in front of us and we share.

We used to live maybe 9 blocks away from here and we would walk, but 2 years ago we moved up the hill and really can't walk anywhere, but I still come down to FatApple's every chance I get.  As it turns out, it really is a 5 star place.
