A Rockland, Maine native, Rhonda H. Nordstrom spent twenty years working in the corporate world west of Boston and studying business and communications at night. All the while, her heart wanted to be back in Midcoast Maine.

In 1999, Nordstrom became a licensed aesthetician after attending the Catherine Hinds Institute of Esthetics, Woburn, MA, and shortly thereafter became a certified clinical aesthetician through the Victoria Rayner Institute in Washington, DC. In December 2002, she moved back to her hometown and opened nordström skin care studio, wherein as the only practitioner, Rhonda performed facials and hair removal services and offered a small selection of products for retail sale.

In the summer of 2008 Rhonda also become the owner of Calm Moments in Damariscotta.  She loved the spa, the location, and the clientele and gladly stepped in when the previous owner decided it was time for a change. 

Due to fairness and trademark law, nordström skin care changed its name to RHEAL Day Spa effective December 1, 2008.  Today, RHEAL Day Spa and Calm Moments Day Spa employ over 10 full and part time employees including aestheticians, massage therapists, and front desk staff. Rhonda is living her dream, owning a bona fide day spa, treating all types of skin conditions, and offering much needed relaxation to people from all walks of life.
