Mr. Williamson has donated two photographs that truly capture Cape Ann at its best.  Vibrant colors and interesting composition this photograph is enriched by the choice of canvas over stretchers.


Kirk Williamson recently exhibited photographs at Cape Ann Coffees.  


Mr. Williamson has been a photojournalist for the past 32 years and has been photographing Cape Ann since he was given a camera by his father at age 12. He purchased his first digital Canon SLR in 2001 and has been totally digital since that time. He worked for the Salem Evening News for 21 years as their Chief Photographer until leaving in 2000 for the internet industry. He worked at Autobytel creating their successful product AutoGallery.  He has won many awards for his work as a photojounalist and has been published throughout the United States and Europe. He has worked for several of the most prestigous newspapers and magazines in the country including;

The New York Times Magazine, Forbes Magazine, Skiing Magazine, Sailing Magazine, US Magazine, Yankee, The Los Angeles Times, The Chicago Tribune, The Washington Post, The New York Times, USA Today, The Hartford Courant, The Salem Evening News, U.S. News & World Report Books, Gatehouse Media New England Addison - Wesley Publishing, Little Brown & Company, W. Norton Publishing and many other newspapers and periodicals throughout New England.
 
Today Mr. Williamson is employed as a multimedia editor for a chain of twenty newspapers north of Boston. The Cape Ann Beacon being one.

The photographs being auctioned come from his self-published book Cape Ann - In the off season.
