The Victorian House B&B reflects a legacy of 19th century grand architecture and great taste. As you enter the foyer, the amazing woodwork greets you and the beautiful windows with inlaid stained glass remind you of an elegance of a bygone era.
This home was built in 1892 by Samuel A. Nelson, for his wife, seven boys and three girls! There is a great history of life in this place. For over a century this home has been of service to families and for the last 18 years to those interested in great food and lodging with character. Their goal at the Victorian House is to provide excellent quality and service with attention to detail.
Since 1989, the professional artists of the Commonweal Theatre have brought to life soulful stories told with honesty and creativity. The heart of the Commonweal's programming is the Main Stage Season. This balanced yet challenging repertory is compromised of up to six plays with more than 200 performances chosen from among the world's finest classic, contemporary, and emerging playwrights. According to Joe Dowling, Guthrie Theatre, the Commonweal is "one of the leading rural professional companies in America." And "the new theater is a fabulous place to see a play - and every seat is a good one," according to Terry Rindfleisch of the LaCrosse Tribune.
