Popular is "How to Use Storytelling to Inspire Reluctant Writers." Or learn journal or memoir writing. How to start a story and keep readers interested can be covered.

Barbara's story, "A Bowl of Rice" was the 2009 winner in the youth/teen category in the Writers Digest writing competition. It will be published in an anthology in Novemeber. Barbara's juvenile historical novels, The Prisoner's Sword and Ride the West Wind were named recommended reading by the National Council of Teachers of English. She has published numerous short stories and is President of the Northern California Pen Women.
