Description
Good Food, Served Right: Traditional Recipes and Food Customs From New York's North Country
This award-winning cookbook includes traditional recipes and food customs from New York's North Country
A fascinating cookbook written by folklorist Lynn Case Ekfelt, which was the first place national winner in the prestigious TABASCO Community Cookbook Competition in 2000. The book's 25 chapters--consisting of essays on food events, traditional family recipes, historical profiles and photographs--introduce readers to regional specialties, ethnic communities, and small town events. Chapters on food types, ethnic communities, and community events paint a portrait of a diverse culinary tradition. 352 pages; spiral binding for ease of use.
Traditional Arts in Upstate New York is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping people understand and appreciate the folk traditions and local culture of everyday life--present and past--in the North Country. To do so, TAUNY seeks to research and preserve a record of diverse groups, customs and traditions; to recognize and empower traditional arts and artists; to identify and promote regional identity; and to provide opportunities for people of all ages to learn about folklore and local culture.
