Description
Serving Platter (marked Bauer Los Angeles) and Gravy Boat (marked Bauer USA Los Angeles). Platter measures 12-3/4" diameter. Color is a fresh grass green. The handle on the gravy boat curves in a gracious way and a sculptural wave rides up to the tip of the boat. This piece of Bauer pottery was probably made in the early 1930s in Los Angeles and its measurements are 10-1/4? long, 3? deep in the middle part and 4-1/4? at its highest point. In perfect condition - no chips, nicks or cuts. There are glaze skip and kiln marks on the bottom. This style has been called plain ware which was introduced in the late 1920s. Plain ware is less common than ring ware, thus harder to find.
