Description

The Sisters of the Holy Family, established in San Francisco in 1872, were founded with the mission (which continues today) “to seek out and advocate for the poor and needy, especially families, for the kingdom of God.”

The Sisters of the Holy Family are best remembered in their early years for the day care and religious education provided for children of working parents and the poor.  Since that time, the Congregation’s ministries have expanded to include religious education for public school children and the developmentally challenged; childcare centers; and pastoral care in hospitals and parish centers.  In addition, the Sisters of the Holy Family are involved in advocacy for affordable housing for low-income families and seniors.

For more than a century Sisters of the Holy Family have continued to seek out new ways to respond to the changing needs of families and children.

Our activities today include:  day care for low income families, hospital and homecare for the elderly and infirm, gang prevention for at risk youth, aid for the homeless, resource assistance, community outreach relief for the poor and homeless ministries.

All the funds raised during this Online Auction will be put to good use in the Mission Fund, funding programs that serve immigrant, marginalized or simply low-income families. The Sisters also minister to shut-ins, those who are grieving and those who have loved ones who are ill or dying.

Your contribution here will go directly into the Mission Fund.
