Description

Burgundy/cream Percaya (which means "Believe") handbag was handmade by the 2004 Tsunami survivors of the Banda Aceh region of Indonesia.

In addition to being handmade using a treadle sewing machine, the ladies free-motion sew them meaning they memorize the patterns and then sit down and sew them out. Each is given an Achenese name (which is the local dialect). More information can be found at the Laga website www.lagahandbags.com
