Since the 2010 FIFA World Cup, staged this past June and July, was held during the chilly South African winter (our summer), this limited edition blanket was FIFA’s and the South African World Cup Organizing Committee’s official match day in-stadium gift to VIP guests to help keep those special guests warm. Specifically made just for the tournament by soccer’s world governing body, the blanket’s colorful nature depicts how Nobel Prize winner and South African native Desmond Tutu described post-apartheid South Africa as the “Rainbow Nation.” It was not available for purchase or to the general public before, during or after this quadrennial event, the world’s largest single sport event.  Made of Polar fleece measuring 150 cm X 120 cm
