The Abilene Zoo maintains a collection of both plants and animals. The animal exhibits are surrounded by plants native to Texas, including butterfly gardens. The zoo cares for more than 500 animals that representing 160 species - jaguars, black rhinos, bison, maned wolves, giraffes, black bears, lions, white tiger, monkeys and more! The zoo maintains two species of primates, Black Rhinos, Giraffes, Zebras, Jaguars, Bison, a diverse selection of reptiles, and several aquariums.
