Description



Original screen worn costume worn by actress Diana Spencer in the 1959 film "Don't Give Up the Ship" starring Jerry Lewis.  This pale yellow, floral print, quilted house coat closes up the front with a series of snaps and includes the matching fabric belt.  The  Paramount Pictures costumer's label with Spencer's name and the Paramount paper laundry tag is inside. Famed costume designer Edith Head is credited as the designer for this film.


Condition:  Stains, most notably on the front, skirt portion of the coat and soiling and fading present from production use and storage. 


Side note:  This same house coat was worn four years earlier by actress Martha Scott in the 1955 Paramount Pictures film "Desperate Hours", co-starring Humphrey Bogart.
