Born in 1967 in Pennsylvania, Bob Beers made a name for himself as a professional ice hockey defenseman in the 1990s. During his amateur career, Beers played for North Arizona University and the University of Maine. In 1989 he began playing professional and until his retirement in 2000 he playing in the NHL, the AHL, and the IHL, making it to the World Championships three times. Over the course of this career, Beers played for the Boston Bruins, the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Edmonton Oilers, and the New York Islanders. He is currently a radio commentator for the Boston Bruins' radio network.
