Special Instructions

Simply put, my time in Manchester visiting the grounds, the stadium, and attending the game is something I will never forget.  Very little compares to the passion and raw emotion of the faithful Manchester United fans, and visiting the players on their practice ground was truly special. Anyone with an interest in any sport should experience the thrill of Manchester United football firsthand.

All I can say is that there is nothing like seeing it in person. The joy of watching United beat Arsenal was awesome. Soccer is the greatest sport on earth and Man U is the greatest team. Thank  you to Mr. and Mrs. Glazer for giving me this opportunity.  I fully intend to return to Manchester to play for Man U.  Oh, and Rooney - I want to be Captain.

If you love soccer, this is truly the trip of a life time.  Two years ago Max and I took this trip as a graduation present, to see United play Arsenal at Old Trafford Stadium in Manchester.  Max ditched school, with Mr. Michaud's complicity, and off we went.  Once in England, we were picked up to visit the United training academy and the adventure began.  We were in awe. We were treated to a private tour, watched the team prepare for the big game and met several players, including Rooney, Ronaldo, Scholes, Van der Sar and others.  We watched as Ronaldo practiced striking by himself; Max has adopted those moves.  Max then went on one of the fields to kick the ball around with then 17 year old Danny Wellbeck, who taught him a few tricks.  At lunch, Max got to say hello to the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson.  We also visited the stadium, including the locker room and the tunnel where the teams enter the field.  We sat in the seats where the players and coaches sit at game time, and we got to walk near the field but not actually on the sacred pitch, in fact the grounds keeper was having a bit of a fit about our touching the grass; we couldn't help it! We got back to the hotel and saw the entire Arsenal team and coaching staff checking in.  Max, who was dressed in head to toe United garb, met and spoke with most of the team including the head coach, Arsene Wenger, what an experience.  The next day we were picked up and taken to the game, to our incredible seats, near the tunnel where the players enter the field.  The pre game excitement build up was like attending a super bowl game, electric.  The fans sitting near us were wonderful and taught us to sing the various United songs - including the dirty ones.  Best of all, United beat that cross town rival with a PK by Ronaldo!  What a trip, we will never, ever, forget it.  We ended the trip with Max deciding that he was now going to move to Manchester and play for United; who needs school?
