High bidder receives an unframed, head and shoulders, Oil Portrait painted from life.
The painting will be approximately 16" X 20"; the actual proportion will be determined by how the artist conceives an effective composition and with regard to the space in which the portrait will be displayed.
The portrait painting will take between fifteen and eighteen hours to complete. A portion of the painting may be done from photographic reference, however the artist must take the photographs.
Robert Raack is a figurative painter and has completed four commissioned portraits for CWRU in the passed two years. You can see additional examples of his portrait paintings on his website www.robertraack.com.
Special Instructions
The artist will work out a mutually agreeable schedule with the person to be painted. The person must be willing to pose for at least eight to nine hours with each session being between two to three hours long. The portrait could be painted at the home of the person being painted or at the artists home. Each session will be broken down into twenty to twenty-five minute sets with short breaks of five to ten minutes in between each set.
