About Nathalie:
Nathalie's art education began at the Cleveland Museum of Art at age five. Her family recognized that her favorite past time was drawing and painting, and encouraged her passionate interest in art. Sketching and making art using any medium was the springboard for her life. She won numerous art awards through elementary school, high school, and college, for her prints, paintings, and sculptures (bronze and clay).

Her first daunting artistic challenge came as a teenager while she contemplated the forest next to her home. She wondered, "How can I express the view of all these trees with light filtering through their infinite numbers of leaves -- how can anyone possibly express this in a painting!" Her family had numerous books on the impressionist painters.

She recalls finding "The Age of Impressionism" book on the shelf and in its pages found the answer to nature's infinite detail! With an impressionistic approaches to her paintings, she was launched into the world of color and light; a lifelong endeavor to express her creative vision using paint on canvas.

Nathalie's deep relationship with nature moves through her brushes. She looks for the secrets and mysteries that might emerge as scenes in her work. The images that grow through experiences, realizations, and relationships, become the vital source for meaning and for the paintings she creates. The precious beauty of nature, from woods to ocean and scenic vistas, suggest a mysterious presence that Nathalie aspires to show through imagery. Sometimes the landscapes whisper from an inner source and a very personal "soul scape" emerges.

The pure act of painting is her passion, and her style is representational, painterly, impressionistic, and bold. Over the years, Nathalie has explored a wide range of pallet and subject matter, though her style has always been recognizable. The common theme in all of her paintings is mystery and light.
