Description
8th Grade, Class of 2011: Handmade Japanese Bridge
This auction item was created based on an extensive study of the bridges of the Mediaeval Japanese Gardens. The graceful arch and dynamic symmetry evoke the essence of cherry blossoms and Buddhist contemplation. The deck boards are a new product that combines Radiata Pine with biocore technology. This is the first “Scientifically Enhanced Performance Lumber,” Starting with plantation grown, FSC certified, clear Radiata Pine from New Zealand, the lumber is then infused with the a special polymer. The result is a decking product that is highly weather resistant, highly insect resistant, fungus free, class A exterior fire rated and environmentally friendly. Radiata Pine is endangered in its native habitat. It has grown for millennia along the coast of Monterery and was extensively planted in Marin. Its common name is Monterrey pine. It has 3 needles and can be seen throughout Novato. The 8th grade class autographed the railing with their favorite inspiring quotes.
