Artist Mary Jane Q. Cross of Newport, NH, is a local favorite here in the Ocean State, which she visits often. This gifted painter has an inspiring backstory: Medication caused her to develop a permanent tremor in her right arm. She has since relearned painting, having deveopled a new technique: 95% of her work is now fingerpainting, with brush strokes deftly applied using a prosthetic device. Mary Jane's style is primarily colorist, though she also describes herself as a "closet realist!"

Lilies and water are among the broad scope of subjects this multiple-award-winning artist favors, including children and landscapes. Mary Jane makes a subliminal connection with the viewer because she is emotionally and spiritually present in all her paintings.
