This is one piece in a series of works by Raphael Diaz of Warwick, RI depicting a small boat, or "barquito". Raphael's works are collected and shown internationally, especially in Spain, Latin America and Thailand.

An educator as an adult, Diaz was drawn to painting as an only child living with his mother in the Projects in New York. Art allowed him to create for himself a world of extended family relationships.
