Description

In 1997, artist Brent Bachelder created this well known “Wonderful Wickenden Street” mural on the walls of the I-195 underpass. This past year, it has been demolished as part of the new I-Way relocation.

This series of 5 paintings is based on the design of the mural, and consists of Brent’s version of a Van Gogh self portrait, a part of Picasso’s Guernica, Michaelangelo’s David, Munch’s the Scream and DaVinci’s Mona Lisa.

They are each individually framed but are assembled as one piece. The frames can be unassembled and rearranged, left separate, or they can be removed from the frames altogether and hung as one unit, completing the look of the flowing mural. The paintings are finished on the sides on gallery canvass’ and flow together when viewed like this.

This is truly a one-of-a-kind piece of artwork of Providence history that has been seen by thousands over the last 13 years. It is sad to see the real one go away, but purchase this and you will own it forever.
