San Francisco's Mission District is where the traditional and often lusty Latino and South American flavors are a part of a changing community of various background and cultures.  This Edible Excursions tour includes a mouth-watering assortment of tastings and samples both savory and sweet.  It's a world of tacos and maple bacon donuts; salsa (the sauce, not the dance), freshly made ice cream and savory pies.  Guests will enjoy learning in person the stories of Mission culinary artists and shop keepers, with insights into the area's history and beautiful, world famous murals.

Along the way, participants will get to taste some of the following local artisan edibles (subject to change):  Ominivore Books, which is a dream come true for cooks and food lovers. Omnivore has a vast selection of vintage and current titles, and hosts food events throughout the year. 

While we are at Ominivore Books, we will also taste some delicacies:  La Cocina's sips of Jamu, a unique and tasty Indonesian health and energy drink made by Sajen.

Handmade tartlet from Mission Pie and hand held savory pie delivered by Bike Basket Pies.

We'll also try some Humphry Slocombe's award winning (and one of a kind) ice cream as well as a maple bacon donut from Dynamo Donuts.  Now who says savory can't meet sweet?
