Special Instructions

Paul Edelstein is one of the best known artists in the Mid-South. Painting and selling his art since the age of 15, he was mentored and instructed by some of the area’s finest. Marilyn Califf and Marjorie Liebman each mentored him – minimalist painter Agnes Martin was one of his key influences. Liebman taught Edelstein the technique of “washing” the canvas – to get rid of all the white. From that he begins to see his shapes and story. “Color is my day-long obsession”. Oil and water color are his mediums.
Paul Edelstein‘s paintings can be found in most serious Mid-South Collections. His Series have included The Amish, Birthdays, His Daughter Polly, Dancers, His Pugs, Annual Christmas Cards, Kudzo and many others. Additionally, he is known for his generosity and also for his personal art collection.
