Up in the sky and down on the ground...news happens everywhere!
With this experience you will first tour WLKY as you see the ins and outs of a TV station. Go behind the scenes as the afternoon newscast is underway. Last, but not least, end the experience with a flight back to Bowman Field on the WLKY Helicopter!!
WLKY first began using WLKY NewsChopper early in 1997. Bill DeReamer, better known as Chopper Bill, has manned the pilot's seat from the beginning.
Is there any better way to spend the afternoon and learn about how the news is made!
Special Instructions
The expiration date on the certificate is December 31, 2011.
Four weeks advance notice is needed to schedule the experience.
Experience participant must be at least 14 years of age.
Due to a breaking news event or other occurrence the experience may need to be rescheduled at a moments notice. Allow for flexibility and possible rescheduling.
The experience begins at the WLKY-TV station on Mellwood Avenue in the afternoon at approximately 3:30pm and ends at Bowman Field at approximately 6:30pm. Plan for transportation accordingly.
This item will have to be shipped or picked up by the winner at the JA office in Louisville, KY. Please allow two to three weeks for delivery.
