The Kentuckiana Business Hall of Fame is an annual induction ceremony honoring outstanding business leaders and entrepreneurs who, through their work, have made significant contributions to the quality of life in our region.


Founded in 1982, this event benefits Junior Achievement of Kentuckiana, and has raised more than $1,000,000 to support Junior Achievement's financial literacy, entrepreneurship and work readiness programs.


On Thursday, March 3, 2011, the Kentuckiana Business Hall of Fame will honor four more outstanding business leaders who will join 89 previously-inducted Laureates. This prestigious and memorable event will be held at the Kentucky International Convention Center with the reception at 6:00 p.m. followed by the awards dinner at 7:00 p.m.  The Laureate class of 2011 will be:



  • The late Colonel Matt Winn, who brought Churchill Downs to the international forefront

  • The late James Breckinridge Speed, business man and industrial pioneer

  • Susan Stout Tamme, Louisville market president for Baptist Hospital Healthcare System

  • Kent Taylor, entrepreneur and founder of the national restaurant chain, Texas Roadhouse
