The Striking Viking Story Pirates is New York's premiere absurdist sketch comedy musical for kids - with all stories written by kids!

• What does it mean to be a "Featured Author?" It means that you submit a story written by your child (any length and any topic) and the professional actors and comedians who are the Story Pirates adapt your child's story to be performed at the Saturday show you attend.

Whenever the Pirates take the stage, we are armed with furry monsters, Viking costumes, flying cats, and sacks of treasure for an experience that shows kids the power of writing in a way they'll never forget. That's right, everything the Story Pirates perform is based on a story written by a kid, from kung fu ninja babies fighting crime to the eternal love between the devil and some guy she met at Starbucks. Taking our cues from kids themselves, it’s a world where money grows on heads and fish rain from the sky. Called “crazy entertaining” by the Daily Show’s Jon Stewart, the Story Pirates have been performing at schools and in theaters across the country for six years.

This package entitles you tickets for an upcoming Story Pirates show, where you can see your own child’s story performed. It may also be applied toward the cost of tickets to one of our popular birthday parties. If you’re new to Story Pirates, here’s how it works: Send in a story written by your child. The story can be any length and about any topic. Pick a date with the help of a Story Pirate, then invite your friends and family to watch as professional actors and comedians bring your child’s story to life. It’s an experience you’ll never forget.

Your child will have the opportunity to have his or her picture taken and placed on the Pirates’ Author Wall of Fame, as well as receive a certificate during an on-stage ceremony conducted at the end of the show.

The Story Pirates perform throughout the school year each Saturday at 2pm at The Drama Book Shop at 250 W 40^th St btwn 7^th & 8^th Aves.
