Description
"Best Cellars was conceived as a completely new kind of wine store dedicated to bringing you 100 (give or take) of the greatest tasting wine values from all over the world."
- 1 bottle - White - 2009 - South Australia, Australia. “Yard Dog.” Producer: Red Heads Studio. Medium straw-colored with an amber tint. An expressive floral, citrus, and peach-scented perfume. This intriguing blend is dry, forward, tasty, and nicely balanced.
- 3 bottles - White - 2007 - Castilla/La Mancha, Spain. “Airén.” Producer: Bodegas Sierra Virgen. A pale straw color in the glass with dominant floral tones overlaying light hints of caramel and cedar. In the mouth there are tart apple flavors with lingering lemon notes.
- 1 bottle - Red - 2010 - Burgundy, France. Producer: Domaine de la Madone. Beaujolais Villages Nouveau. This Beaujolais-Villages Nouveau is deep ruby-purple in color, medium in body, with soft, round tannins. It offers a beautiful nose and palate of cherries, raspberries, violets and spice. With well balanced fruit, acidity and tannins, the wine shows ripe red fruit on the lasting finish.
"Best Cellars classifies its wines based on taste and style, rather than grape type or place of origin. Best Cellars selections are presented in eight distinct style categories to help you choose the right wine for any food, mood or occasion. Why has Best Cellars chosen to categorize wine by style, using words, icons and colors? Because it wants to make shopping for wine as much fun as drinking it. Because Best Cellars thinks that this sytem encourages you to try wonderful wines that would otherwise be overlooked on your way to Bordeaux, Burgundy, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. Because it believes that buying wine should be a multiple-choice question (rather than an essay test) where all the answers are correct. Because you know what you like, and Best Cellars knows wine."
