One week’s accommodations in magical Mineral de Pozos, in the state of Guanajuato, Mexico.

This year the accommodations combine the hospitality of one of Mexico’s distinguished boutique hotels with the convenience of access to the local home, car, pool and corral of a PS75 family.

It is located in a beautifully restored mansion in the center of Pozos. The web link is  http://www.posadadelasminas.com/pozos-guanajuato/en/.  Accomodations include daily breakfast.  We are offering the Buena Vista room (please see information on all the hotel’s rooms on the website), which has a kitchen, a queen size bed and a full size futon for your kids.  It is also the largest room in the hotel.  However, each room is different, and the winning bidder will be free to select a different room if they prefer.

Your hosts at the hotel have also agreed to include a free lunch or dinner and a free massage at the hotel spa which is opening in June 2011.

During your stay in Pozos, the winning bidder will also have access to the local home and ranch of a PS 75 family, including:

• Car – you will have use of the owner’s car (gas is not provided).


• Corral – many visitors to Pozos enjoy the opportunity to go horseback riding with a local cowboy.  The donor would be happy to help make those arrangements if you choose to do that.  You are also welcome to board the horses in the corral at the house during the time you are visiting Pozos so that you’ll have easy access for as many rides as you want.


• Pool – you will also have use of the lap pool at the house.


• Ranch – the donor is in the process of renovating a more than 200 year old hacienda and ranch buildings on a 1,000 acre cattle ranch.  If you would like, the donor would be happy to arrange for a picnic lunch at the ranch.

Things to see and do:  from Pozos you have easy access to many of the colonial jewels of Mexico.  We are less than one hour from San Miguel de Allende (please see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Miguel_de_Allende for much more information), Queretaro and San Luis Potosi, and less than two hours from the city of Guanajuato.  Pozos itself is best for hiking, horseback riding, and just relaxing (please see http://www.mineraldepozos.com/).
