Mystery of the Tree Rings won a Silver Medal at the Independant Publishers.  Following in the footsteps of Volk and Meierhenry's first book, "Mystery of the Round Rocks" which won a Bronze Medal, "Mystery of the Tree Rings" has recieved a Silver Medal.  Both books won in the Best Regional Children's Fiction category.

Meierhenry and Volk's third book "Mystery of the Maize" was released in the spring of this year and will again feature the twins of Max and Hannah who go on another adventure of discovery with their granfather to learn about the history of maize in South Dakota.  The book has a new illustrator, Marty Two Bulls, Sr.
