Description
Looking for rigorous yet supportive feedback on a memoir or personal essay you've written? Author and experienced teacher of memoir writing is offering a one-hour telephone consultation. Submit up to 25 pages (double-spaced) of a manuscript for a review that will consider not only relatively minor issues (grammar, etc) but also those concerns that can make the difference between publication and the rejection slip. These include the authorial voice (or "persona"), scene-setting, pacing, and what Vivian Gornick calls your "story"--i.e. the meaning you've made from your experience. Paul Zakrzewski is the editor of the anthology "Lost Tribe: Jewish Fiction from the Edge," and his essays and reviews have been published in the New York Times, Boston Globe and Washington Post. He has taught memoir writing at the University of the Arts (Philadelphia), Boston's Grub Street, and the JCC in Manhattan.
