Based on years of research, Shanghai Legacy chronicles the Jewish Refugee Community in Shanghai from 1938-1945--how they lived, loved, suffered, and struggled--but ultimately survived under Japanese occupation. It is also an imagined inter-generational drama of a mother and daughter that explores how a survivor's secret hardships can affect--and afflict--the next generation.
