Description
This is a handmade, natural mulberry paper photo album. Truly a unique gift.
The album is approximately 10 1/2" tall and 8 1/2" wide. Contains 16 pages (32 sheets) and handmade photo corners.
About mulberry paper:
Centuries ago, in the hills of northeastern Burma, the local hill tribe people noticed that the bark of the mulberry tree peeled from the tree. They discovered that this bark could be made into an all natural paper without destroying the tree. The hill tribe people called this tree 'saa' and the same word is used in Thai today. The craft of making 'saa' paper, still thrives today.
The bark of the mulberry tree is pounded into a mushy pulp. Natural dyes are added to the pulp which is then put into a cloth covered frame. The water is allowed to drip away and the frame is left to dry in the sun. After it has completely dried, the paper is then carefully peeled away from the frame.

Pick up/shipping information: At auction close, item will be available for pick up in Sebastopol, CA or it can be mailed at the winning bidder’s expense.
Items are shipped via Priority Mail Flat Rate Shipping with the United States Postal Service. This item will ship in a medium flat rate box and the shipping cost will be $10.95. Mailing/shipping insurance is optional and incurs an additional charge. Winning bidder is responsible for all fees.
If more than one item is won, we will combine all the items into one box and ship in the smallest box possible. If the items do not fit into a Flat Rate box, the items will be boxed into an appropriate box and the best shipping option will be chosen by the auction shipping team.
