Oh my...this luscious, felted wool rug is a gem that will be treasured by your family for generations! To the tune of "Skip to my Lou", the Morning Star children worked in groups to braid the huge balls of wool roving...over and under...over and under.... The braids were stitched together in a spiral and then, with wet and soapy hands and feet, the children rubbed, rolled and danced upon the rug to felt the fibers together. Ms. Kate lovingly added the final stitching in the classroom as the children went about their daily work and play.
The beautiful wool roving - in warm colors suited to any season - comes from Bodega Pastures where the kindergarten classes visited the sheep and new lambs just weeks ago!
