Description

The Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival on February 24-27, 2011 is a spectacular four days worth of events celebrating amazing food and great wine in one of the most beautiful destinations in the world!

Join Gilt City in Miami for the 10th annual South Beach Wine & Food Festival. Gilt City will take you inside two of the weekend’s top events – BubbleQ and Wine + Dine + Design. The package includes 2 nights hotel accommodations for two at the Mondrian, two tickets to these two events, but does NOT include airfare.

 EVENTS THAT ARE INCLUDED:

Bubble Q with VIP reception at 7-11pm on 2/25/11 –  (ticket value $900)

This year’s sizzle in the sand has more than ever going for it! Unbeatable atmosphere (a moonlit patch of white sand beach behind the elegant Delano hotel), fun cuisine (barbecue in every possible incarnation), and the world’s favorite beverage (Perrier-Jouët champagne) make the Perrier-Jouët BubbleQ hosted by Bobby Flay and Friends one of the Festival’s biggest, most exciting events. Wine + Dine + Design from 7-11pm on 2/26/11 – (ticket value $500)

Miami’s Design District represents not only the chicest, hippest, and newest in furniture, fashion, and art. It is currently THE hot spot for bold, creative, extraordinary food. Forget the chains, the copycats, and the fly-by-nights. All you’ll find here are the authentic and romantic, including the three restaurants featured in tonight’s dine around: Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink, Sra. Martinez, and Fratelli Lyon each will be paired up with chefs who have won both the Food & Wine Magazine Best New Chef and James Beard Foundation Award. At Michael’s Genuine Executive Chef Michael Schwartz will team up with Iron Chef Michael Symon, also the 2010 Amstel Light Burger Bash champion. At Sra. Martinez, Chef Michelle Bernstein will welcome John Besh from Restaurant August into her kitchen. Over at Fratelli Lyon, Ken Lyon will share the chopping board with Andrew Carmellini from Locanda Verde in NYC.

For starters, you’ll enjoy a reception at which all diners gather together for passed hors d’oeuvres on the outdoor patio at Vino & Olio. From there, you’ll join one of three groups as you make your rotation from one restaurant to the next, each of which will serve you one course of your evening’s meal, along with a different wine pairing at each location.

At the conclusion of your third course, everyone will meet at Ornare for a dessert finale, where your biggest chore will be to choose from the dozens of assorted sweets on hand for your pleasure. It’s an evening of pure delight in one of Miami’s great neighborhoods.
