These belts are made from Hollywood movies that are no longer run in theaters. The movie film is backed with a clear leader film so you can see the images when held up to the light, but when the bag is closed the contents will not be visible.

The movies used in this belt are made of the more recent film that is 100% polyester and more durable than the older film that was made of acetate (which was also flammable). The films have previously been exposed to hours of bright light and have gone round and round on film spools in a projector, so durability is beyond extreme. Filmstrips are crocheted together, using more durable “mercerized” yarns) by a women's cooperative in the Philippines.
