Description
The West Street Café is locally owned and operated with care, integrity and respect for customers and employees alike. Having worked in the restaurant business for much of his life, the owner, a Maine native, takes pleasure in maintaining high standards in his own establishment. You’ll often see him dining here several times a week as he loves to spend time interacting with locals and visitors from all over the world.
Those who return year after year are welcomed as old friends and those arriving for the first time are valued as new ones.
A three minute walk from the Town Pier, West Street’s building was first erected in the early 1900’s down the street and moved to its present location years later. Thru the decades additional parts were cobbled together a piece at a time. The owner dons his carpenter hat each winter to craft new improvements, while taking care to retain charming original aspects such as rough sawn and completely uneven wood floors and ceilings.
