International photographer, Marla McDonald is a visual storyteller who uses a variety of photographic styles to capture the emotion, essence and impact of a moment. A graduate of the Summer Intensive program at the Rocky Mountain School of Photogra phy, she has mastered various photographic tools and techniques including traditional film, digital photography and alternative processing.

"I'm an intuitive photographer with strong technical skills. I watch the light, see the moment and quickly capture the essence of the instant. I'm fast but patient, waiting for moments to happen, and when they do, I feel blessed to be the one honored to photograph them."

Marla has received awards from National Geographic, Photographer’s Forum and Women in Photography International. Her work has been commissioned by individuals and organizations in both the United States and abroad, and her photographs have been seen in numerous publications including Texas Monthly, D Magazine and The Dallas Observer. Marla credits her photographic eye to her grandfather, who won The Scottish Daily Record Amateur Photography Competition in 1935!
