What kind of music is it?  Well…. original, eclectic, soul-deep, sincere, country-punk-psychedelic-rock ballads and jams!  It doesn’t fit any genre, so it’s like nothing you’ve heard before.  “Texas Sky” is a soothing ballad, “Everything Bingo” is a party-on-down song, “Yin & Yang” evokes a little Mick Jagger, and there’s everything in between.  Including a refreshing and interesting cover of Roy Orbison’s “Crying”. 

Sumner and The Texcentrics have been making the rounds in Austin for the past 5 years - Threadgills, Hole in the Wall, Jovita's, Ruta Maya, The Austin Airport, Keep Austin Bizarre Bazaar, The Full Moon Barn Dance, and the Roky Erickson Psychedelic Ice Cream Social - and now they're ready to break out into other areas!

I have had the privilege of hearing Sumner Erickson play solo acoustic gigs and with The Texcentrics several times.  I’ve always had a wonderful time and left the gigs feeling uplifted and joyful. 

Sumner has even given a house concert at my home and brought people to cleansing tears with his music.  This guy has the sass and brass of a True Texan combined with the sweetness of spirit of an angel, all expressing joyfully through his music.
