Description

Sassy Hoops will custom make a pair of poi-style mini hoops for you. These hoops are for hand hooping tricks or they could easily be given to small children for hours of fun. Your minis will be created from 1/2" light tubing and hand wrapped in your choice of 1 metallic tape and 1 cotton grip tape and will be sized to your specifications.

North Plano area location. Can meet at MoveStudio in North Dallas (Preston and Campbell).

Sassy Hoops was created by me, Julia McPherson, in 2008. Inspired by the online hooping community, I began hoop dancing and making my own hoops some years ago. After the birth of my twin girls in 2007, I knew I had to get back in shape to keep up with them and lose the many pounds I packed on during pregnancy. Hoop dancing was the perfect fit to get my body back into shape and strengthen my core.

My desire to share my hoop passion with other like-minded hoopers in the Dallas area led me to start Sassy Hoops. I've combined my love of crafting and dancing to create specialized hoops for fitness fun.

My personal journey with hoop dancing has helped me cope with depression, struggles with my weight, and anxiety. Hoop dancing allows me to make mistakes and laugh them off, move through my fear, and gain a sense of accomplishment and pride. I feel reconnected with my mind, body and spirit when I hoop. It has given me the courage to try and stretch my boundaries. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to share my passion for the hoop with others through classes and workshops. I am a SaFire Dance Certified Instructor. I hope hooping will bring you joy too!
