Description
House of Glass includes songs about global warming, world peace, and the environment, as well as science fiction, bowling, love, and a jazzy instrumental. Pacific Buffalo is a local Tucson duo. Our sound is "cool rock and hot, jazzy folk."
Chuck's from Seattle and Lori grew up in Buffalo, so we're Pacific Buffalo.
House of Glass tracks:
Celebrate: Chuck stumbled upon some interesting chords and then added Latin, African, and urban rhythms. The result is a world-beat call to get up and dance.
Crystal Ball: The first song in our earth trilogy, this is about our house of glass and features a gypsy scale.
Standing Still: Song number two in our trilogy was inspired by the 1951 movie, The Day the Earth Stood Still.
Vertical Horizon: While hiking along the San Pedro River, Lori thought about Mother Earth and our nearest neighbor, and the third song in the trilogy was born.
The Going Away Blues: Chuck’s friend Jim wrote this wonderful blues tune, which resonates with a lot of us. Chuck gave it his own New Orleans interpretation.
Bowling: This song is dedicated to Lori’s father, a musician who liked to bowl. The lyrics were written a while ago, and the melody rolled down the alley this year.
The Painter: This song is dedicated to Chuck’s mother, an artist who loved the ocean and all of nature.
If: This love song took Lori months to finish. It needed time to find its voice.
The Jive Waltz: Chuck wrote this many years ago. The title and drum intro were inspired by a Cannonball Adderley tune, The Jive Samba. Brazilian jazz of the 1970s influenced the vocal parts.
