Description

Read about this 1975 Villa Cafaggio Chianti Classico from Tuscany:

Well-regarded Italian wine experts Sheldon and Pauline Wasserman rated Villa Cafaggio in 1987 as one of the 12 best producers of Chianti Classico of the over 100 producers that they rated. The 1975 vintage chart in their book Italy's Noble Red Wines shows that 1975 Chianti Classicos were "excellent," as were all wines produced in Tuscany that year.

Another giant among wine writers, Burton Anderson, in his 1980 book about Italian wine, Vino, described Villa Cafaggio as one of the great old guard of Tuscany,  21 producers keeping step with the new. He wrote, "Their names, familiar in Italy and often abroad, are the foundation upon which Chiant's renewed prestige has been built."

This gift includes one bottle of this excellent wine and a copy of the book:  Reading Between the Vines
