It combines Syrah grown in schist, with Grenache from chalk-clay, and matured in a combination of tank and barriques. This wine displays smoke-wreathed black fruit aromas, and a satin-textured, deeply-rich palate, with beetroot, peat, humus, stone, and saline-savory undertones. Not a bit of superficial sweetness or rusticity of tannin accrues to this polished finish.
