Description

The tradition of the Chinese Hot Pot (huoguo) boasts more than 1,000 years of history. Huo means “fire”, while guo refers to “pot.” Today, Hot Pot (otherwise known as “Chinese fondue”) cooking is a popular and fun way to share a meal. ISTP parent and Hot Pot cooking expert, Elizabeth Woo, will proudly bring this ancient tradition to your table.

Elizabeth has a reputation for being a true culinary talent. She has been the driving force of the Chinese booth at Kermesse, Co-Chaired the Teacher Appreciation Lunch for several years, and been the chef for multiple Party Book meals.

You and seven guests (8 people total) will enjoy a colorful array of over 15 varieties of delectable ingredients, including varying meats, seafood, and vegetables. The different ingredients will fill the table, while at the center will be a simmering hot pot filled with Elizabeth’s flavorful broth. Then, each guest will choose their own foods from the prepared ingredients and cook them perfectly to his or her own taste.

Let Elizabeth wow and amaze your guests with this unique and incredible meal, while you and your guests eat to your hearts’ content and enjoy fine Chinese spirits! As this is Elizabeth’s final year at ISTP, this is your last chance to eat up and drink in a meal by a true culinary master.

Limitations: To be hosted at the home of the winning bidder (pending approval from Elizabeth Woo) or Elizabeth Woo’s home on a mutually agreed upon date before May 30, 2011. Not suitable for vegetarians or persons with seafood or shellfish allergies.
