Description

Russel Crotty

Omular Eyes, 2008, Monoprint; 29" x 42"

For over 25 years, Crotty has created and exhibited a large body of work, manifested in globes, drawings and books.  His work explores the very things he loves most: amateur astronomy, the natural world and surfing.

Crotty's unique prints, "monoprints" are created by coating the print plate with ink and drawing directly on the plate. They are very personal, loose depictions of imagined and real surfing episodes drawn from Crotty's over 40 year experience as a passionate surfer.

Crotty's work is included in numerous public collections including the Museum of Modern Art New York, Whitney Museum of American Art, Centre Georges Pompidou Paris and Museum of Contemporary Art Los Angeles.

This is a Live Event Item.
