Auction is for a brand new Talavera Turtle.  It is handpainted Mexican Talavera Pottery with contrasting colors.

Shipping:     Winning bidder has the option of picking up their item at the United Way Atlanta office or pay actual shipping charges.  United Way will contact winning bidder when auction ends to determine how item will be delivered.

Special Instructions

Mexico is famous for its pottery work; it has very skillful artisans who make the most beautiful pieces of ceramics in different techniques. The most prominent is Talavera from Puebla which has an influence from the Spaniards who colonized Mexico. When the City of Puebla was established in the now State of Puebla these early settlers brought with them the tradition of pottery making, with italic, Chinese and Arabian influences, this artisans came from Talavera de la Reina, province of Toledo Spain where the most renown talavera is made.
