Case of unusual, moderately-priced wine : 6 Red, 6 White
Item Number: 178
Time Left: CLOSED
Description
The case includes two bottles each of six different wines, from four different countries, three whites and three reds.
REDS:
2009 Camino del Toro Syrah, an Argentinian wine -- not a Malbec, but equally good.
2006 Mildiani Saperavi, a Georgian wine (from the country of Georgia). A grape you may never have heard of, compared to the Syrah of the Rhone. Should pair well with grilled or smoked meats, or pasta, or even burgers.
NV Melanto Terrace Zinfandel. A strong bodied non-vintage Zin from California.
WHITES
2007 Mildiani Katsiteli. Another wine from Georgia, made from two lesser-known grapes, the Rkatsiteli and Mtsvane. Most comparable to fresh Pinot Grigios or Sauvignon Blanc.
2008 Odd Socks White Blend. An Australian wine, a quirky combination of Semillon, Chardonnay, and Chenin Blanc grapes. This combination would apparently never be heard of in the Old World, but Australian wine makers are more adventuresome. Strong flavors of fresh citrus.
2009 Granite Ridge Viognier. Another Australian wine said to have "elegance" with a fruity nose.
