There are numerous classes and special events throughout the year.  Start with the Visitor's Center with Isaac's Cafe and plan the visit.  Some of the things at Bernheim includes the Garden Pavilion, three Lakes, the Quiet Garden, The Canopy Treewalk, Prairie Overlook, Tablet Hill, natural areas, trails, plant and wildlife.
